Meet Our Executive Board Members

The E-Board of CHF is responsible for the smooth operation and efficient administration of the organization.


Shaun Yan


Shaun is a senior in the School of Hotel Administration/College of Business concentrating in Finance, Accounting, and Real Estate with a Real Estate Minor. He interned at GIC, Singapore's sovereign wealth fund, covering Pan-Asia real estate credit investments last summer. His other involvements at Cornell University include Co-Founder of the Refresh Bolivia Cornell Chapter. He loves playing squash, playing contemporary pop songs on the piano by ear, and having meaningful conversations with people.


Jill Jahnsen

VP of Operations

Jill is a junior from South Florida pursuing a major in Economics and a minor in Business. On campus, she is an employee of the Cornell Store, a peer mentor for the Society for Women in Business, and a teaching assistant for Financial Accounting in the Hotel School. Last summer, Jill was an intern at J.P. Morgan in Sales and Trading and she will be returning there again next summer. In her free time, she loves to run, do pilates, watch horrible reality television, and drink green juice.



Nikan Ansari

Executive Vice President

Nikan is a senior in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations. He interned at Rothschild last summer in the Global Advisory division where he will return full time next year. His other involvements at Cornell University include the Global Economics and Finance Society.


Grace Shi

VP of Recruitment & Education

Grace is a junior majoring in Applied Economics and Management with concentrations in Finance and Accounting. She is also the fund manager for CHF’s Impact Fund. Her other on-campus involvements include being the Senior Vice President for the Society for Women in Business and a member of Alpha Phi Omega Gamma Chapter. This past summer, Grace interned as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at Barclays, where she will be returning next summer. In her free time, Grace enjoys reading Agatha.


Alex Downey

Chief Investment Officer

Alex is a senior Operations Research and Information Engineering major in the College of Engineering. His experiences include starting a small hedge fund and interning at SRC Inc. and Magnus Ridge Winery. He has held leadership positions in his social fraternity and other investment organizations. His other interests include skiing, scuba diving, drinking wine, watching Game of Thrones, and traveling.



Christie Choy

VP of Compliance

Christie is a senior in the School of Hotel Administration minoring in real estate. She joined the Cornell Hedge Fund at the start of her junior year and has been a part of the Impact Fund and Real Estate Fund. This past summer, she worked as an Investment Analysis & Portfolio Management Summer Analyst at Park Hotels & Resorts, the second largest hospitality Real Estate Investment Trust in the World. Christie takes pride in being Canadian and enjoys eating the food that other people cook for her.


Savarn Dontamsetti

Marketing Chair

Savarn is a junior double majoring in Operations Research and Computer Science. Last summer he worked as an internal consultant at Wayfair. Savarn also runs his own multi-college consulting group. In his free time, Savarn likes to produce beats, play soccer, and cook.


Sohrab Meshkat Nafisi

Community Chair

Sohrab is currently a senior in Industrial and Labor Relations School. He previously worked as a project coordinator at a non-for-profit organization, and he is an incoming analyst at Nomura Securities. Sohrab is very much interested in capital markets and public administrationAt Cornell he is also the President of the Cornell International Affairs Review. He enjoys snowboarding, traveling, and playing soccer.


Tiffany Brazer


Tiffany is a junior in the College of Human Ecology pursuing a major in Policy Analysis and Management and minor in Business and Real Estate. This past summer, she interned as an finance & accounting intern at Satori Waters, a healthcare firm in South Florida. On campus, she is the philanthropy chairman of her social sorority, a teaching assistant of Statistics, and an advertising associate at the Cornell Daily Sun-Business Department. In her free time, she enjoys practicing yoga and mediation, photography, and spontaneous adventures.


Lynette Ban

Social Chair

Lynette is currently a junior studying at the Hotel School, concentrating in corporate finance/consulting and minoring in real estate. Over the past summer, she worked for IBM in their Digital Business Group doing internal strategy consulting and corporate development.


Sergey Smirnov

Corporate Outreach Chair

Sergey is a sophomore from Mount Prospect, Illinois double majoring in Economics and Government. On campus, he is the Associate Editor for the Cornell Undergraduate Law and Society Review and a member of Sparkstone Analytics. This past summer, he interned at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. In his free time, Sergey enjoys following soccer, scuba diving, and excessively discussing politics.


Ryan Fanning

Conference Chair

Ryan Fanning is a junior from Westport, Connecticut, studying Hotel Administration with a minor in Real Estate. He is the Conference Chair and is also a member of the Real Estate Fund. This past summer Ryan interned as a financial analyst at Barteca Restaurant Group, and he has previously worked at Sterling Investment Partners. In his free time, Ryan enjoys skiing, hiking, and watching the Red Sox.


Sampson Ngo

Alumni Relations Chair

Sampson is a junior majoring in Economics with a minor in Business. This is his second year with CHF, previously serving as the Social Chair (now Community Chair) last semester. This past summer, Sampson was a Film Intern at NBCUniversal, joining the Financial Planning & Analysis Team for the US Home Entertainment Group in LA. In his free time, Sampson enjoys volunteering with refugees and playing rugby for Cornell.
